Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (June 10, 2015) – Jack Dover is coming off his second top 10 in as many races at Knoxville Raceway this season.
Dover opened last Saturday by qualifying ninth quickest around the famed half-mile oval before he charged from fourth to win a heat race. It marked his fourth straight heat race win and his seventh in nine races this season. It also locked him into the main event, which he lined up on the inside of the fifth row.
“If we could have been one spot better in qualifying we would have made the feature inversion,” he said. “Instead we started ninth and battled for a top 10 throughout the main event.”
Dover scored an eighth-place result, which is the same position he finished during his season opener at Knoxville Raceway.
“It’s always good to get as many laps as possible at Knoxville before the Knoxville Nationals in August,” he said. “It was a bonus to win a heat race from fourth and run in the top 10 all night. I am definitely confident in our car at Knoxville.”
Dover is slated to tackle a trio of races this weekend, which begins on Friday at U.S. 36 Raceway in Cameron, Mo., with the ASCS Warrior Region. Dover has won at the high-banked track each of the past five years.
“It’s a fun track that reminds me a lot of Eagle Raceway (in Eagle, Neb.), where I have a lot of laps,” he said. “We always feel confident rolling into U.S. 36 that we have a great shot at winning.”
Dover will then compete on Saturday at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Neb., and Sunday at Dawson County Raceway in Lexington, Neb., with the Carpetland Nebraska 360 Sprints.
He has recorded five straight top-two finishes, including three wins, at Junction Motor Speedway.
“I’m looking to add to our win total with a big weekend,” he said. “I feel like we have a great shot at not only winning, but winning each race.”
